I am a native of Wheeling, West Virginia (USA) and the mother of two. Animals have always been an important part of our lives and we are presently privileged to share our home with our beloved dogs, Archie and Waylon. Just recently, we had to say goodbye to our Jack Russell Terrier, Molly, who brought so much joy to us for 7 years. Losing her has broken our hearts but we will forever treasure the time we had with her.
My fondness for animals and the extraordinary people who care for them is at the very heart of my compositions, and I thank God, alone, for the inspiration and ability to express myself in art form.
Below are some examples of my work with the photographs used to create each portrait. Often I am asked to combine several photographs for one portrait, or to omit something from the photo when drawing. The options are nearly endless, giving you control for a truly customized portrait.
I use Derwent pencils for black & white drawings, and Prismacolor color pencils for partial or full-color drawings. Each composition is created on acid-free heavy weight natural white paper to produce a lasting keepsake that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. You will receive your finished portrait double-matted with quality acid-free mat board, and shrinkwrapped for protection - both included in the price listed for the size you prefer.
